German metal queen Doro Pesch spoke to Metal Rules about the status of the writing and recording sessions for the follow-up to his 2018 double album “Forever Warriors, Forever United”. She said: “The new album is almost done. It’s 80% done and there are some great songs. There are anthems, fast songs and really soulful songs. So I think 80% of the he album is already done. I mean, 80% of the songwriting is done, and we’ve recorded a lot of stuff. It’s coming out later next year.

Asked if her new album will be stylistically similar to “Forever Warriors, Forever United”she said, “Yeah, but it’s probably not a double album. Next year is my 40th anniversary as an artist. And, of course, we want to do something special, but this will be one album.”

“Forever Warriors, Forever United” featured 19 regular tracks and six bonus songs.

Last month, Doro released a very unique single – a moving adaptation of his classic metal anthem “Raise your fist in the air”. The track was made possible by the new ZDF (German national television channel) music program “Impossible Music”.

Last May, Doro told Sleaze Roxx that she now writes most of her songs with former SISTERS OF MERCY guitarist Andreas Bruhn. “I met him, I think, in 1986,” she said. “We’ve always worked well together. In fact, the new bass player we have in Europe, we wrote a killer new song together, so it’s a new friendship. It’s an anthem. It’s good! And I wrote a song with my very first producer in the “Hell” album. We met again and wrote a beautiful song together. It’s a song for animals because I love animals. It’s called “Celestial Creatures”. It will definitely be on the new record I plan to release next year. Next year I have my 40th birthday, so we want to celebrate it big.”

On the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the “Triumph and Agony” his former band’s album WARLOCK, Doro published “Triumph and Agony Live” in various formats, including CD, vinyl, cassette, DVD, Blu-ray and a huge box set, in September 2021 via its own label, Production of rare diamonds. The “Triumph and Agony” work centered on Geoffrey Gillespieof the famous original drawing of the “Warlock” kissing the blonde rock star.
