Ed Sheeran confirms his next album is ready for release – Music News

Ed Sheeran has confirmed his manager’s comments that he already has a new album ready for release. Speaking to Jordan and Perri on KISS Breakfast, the singer said, “It’s not called ‘Minus’ but it’s going to come uh– It depends on how honest ‘Equals’ is going to be. Because if Equals launches bombs, so you know, the next one will come pretty quickly (laughs).

He continued, “Equals” was meant to be the final. I had basically done two records in the last four years and “Equals” was going to be the final and in all fairness it was January. England looked a little gloomy. So I was going to release the other record. And then as I was preparing this, England started to open up. The euros are starting to arrive. The bars open. Concerts take place. It’s summer. And I had “Bad Habits”. And I was like this song exists in summer and this summer exists in a world where England is opening up and people are feeling happy again. So, I just reversed them.

He revealed that he needed to cut songs from the album before release. “I created it for vinyl. The album originally was 16, 17 songs and they were like” It’s gonna have to be a double vinyl if you do that. But if you cut three, two, or three songs, you can have it as one vinyl. “I listen to a lot of vinyl at home. And I like to go to the end of one side and turn it over and have the other side and then flip it. I love the no-skip policy. There is no skip on a vinyl. It’s also on tape – there is no tape skip. I would love , if you are going to listen to it for the first time, listen to it all, even if it is streaming. Just listen to it all. No skipping. No shuffling. Just take it once and then do whatever you want.

Ed, of course, has secured full national treasure status, but revealed that it can be quite awkward to interact with other celebrities. “There are people who will be too nice to you and then there are people who will be too horrible to you to prove they don’t care.” There are therefore two types of levels. What I love about where I live is because I’ve known everyone there since I was four, I know everyone in the pub, everyone in the supermarket, everyone at the local cafe, it’s kind of getting the same treatment as I did then, yeah. There is no better or worse.

Although he is currently at home in isolation with COVID, Ed is performing at the virtual KISS Haunted House Party this Sunday, October 31 with a very special pre-recorded performance. He will perform the huge new single “Shivers” as well as the first exclusive performance of the new song “Overpass Graffiti”.

Ed revealed he had a “weird” room he lived in. “I have a house on my property which is haunted. There’s a room upstairs where there’s like a hatch inside for people to go in, die in bed and then – Not like everyday but people who would live there. It’s like the fourteen cents and it’s definitely haunted. Absoutely. If people know, they don’t sleep in… It’s just the one room. One bedroom upstairs. The rest of the house is fine, but it’s the only room at the top. It’s pretty creepy. “
