What will make the Grammys show on January 30 a success? One word: Adèle. At least if Adele and Taylor Swift are performing well, and they will, the rating should be sane.
7.4
They weren’t in good health for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame show on HBO on Saturday night. In total, 518,000 people watched. Of those 100,000 were in the key demo from 18 to 49 years old. It is not a surprise. The RRHOF is intended for the elderly. When you have legends like Tina Turner, Carole King et al and Paul McCartney leading the finale, of course, the audience would be older.
On Sunday night, the American Music Awards, the Grammys’ B-List, had an estimated 4 million viewers. It’s the same as last year which was an all-time low for AMAs. It’s a cheesy show, so it’s nothing new either. And no great artist has performed because they saved it for the Grammys. But on the positive side, at least the ratings haven’t dropped any lower!
The big hit on Sunday was again âYellowstoneâ on cable’s Paramount Network, with 7.4 million viewers. If Viacom allowed CBS to have a special “Yellowstone” on the Mainnet, then a parade going up to West 57th St. “Yellowstone” itself on CBS would attract 12 million viewers per week.
